Head as ever, pure-voiced Scottish vocalist Fowlis manages yet again to conjure an album in impenetrable Gaelic that is totally listenable, a spell-binding melange of traditional pipe-and-fiddle reels alternating with rolling piano ballads and the odd Greek bouzouki number. Where other English or Scottish Folkies struggle to stay 'olde' or drift into electronica, this girl just gets better and better, centred strongly on her Island culture and sounding its many depths. It's a model for many musicians. Delightful.
