UAM means ‘From me’ in Julie’s native tongue Gaelic.  It’s a fitting title for the folk singer who hails from North Uist in the Outer Hebrides.
For this beautiful return, sung almost entirely in Gaelic, comes straight from the heart.

Thig am Bàta (The boat will come) is a rhythmic gem while A’ Chatrion’ Og (Young Catherine) is sorrowful yet serene.  The one bit of English comes whem Eddi Reader joins on a masterful take on Wind and Rain.  These traditional songs represent lost souls calling across the centuries and are sung in a voice as pure as the Hebridean air.  Spellbinding.
